Arsenal Picks: 11 great podcasts you should listen to

Podcasts are seeing a rise in listenership, more so now in light of COVID-19. In this special Arsenal Picks post, we take to our team to ask them about their favorite podcasts.

Podcasting has been around since 2004, but it’s gaining incredible momentum in the past few years. As a medium, it has surpassed its original function of providing “online radio shows”. Today, podcasts are growing ever more popular, with everyone starting their own shows, from A-list celebrities to your next-door neighbor.

For this week’s Arsenal Picks, we gathered the team around to ask them about their favorite podcasts. The result, as always, is an eclectic mix of media you can (and should) start consuming.

Ready? Let’s get on with the list.

    The Basement Yard

Hosts: Joe Santagato and Danny LoPriore

I love this because it’s just a casual conversation between two guys where you can get a lot of tips and general information while laughing at the same time

    I Love Ugly Audio Show

    Host: Valentin Ozich

I find it amazing how a clothing brand is able to own a space in motivation and positivity. Their content helps me get back on track on days when I feel lost. You’ll notice me sporting a lot of their pieces and I’ve gifted people who I care for with some as well.

    Reply All

Hosts: PJ Vogt and Alex Goldman

One of Gimlet’s flagship pods, Reply All is a show about the internet. It’s hosted by PJ Vogt and Alex Goldman, whose dynamic banter has yet to be matched by any podcast of its kind. The episodes are a trove of real-(online) world stories, mysteries, and exposes, from befriending scammers in India, retrieving a stolen Snapchat account, and microdosing for productivity. This is one of if not the best ongoing podcasts – ever.

    Mythology

    Host: Vanessa Richardson

I’ve always loved mythology because it’s interesting to see how people would make sense out of things they don’t understand. This podcast is perfect for those who want to learn more about myths and how things originated.

    The Joe Rogan Experience

    Host: Joe Rogan

Joe Rogan is a hoot. I used to listen to him much more often when sitting in Manila traffic 1-5+ hours per podcast episode. He holds an average Joe’s point of view that I like being an average Ray. But what I do respect is the ‘tell it like it is’ strategy of this type of journalism. It’s the sheep under the wolf skin suit ideas and conversations. No BS.

    The Mindset Mentor

    Host: Rob Dial

This podcast was made for anyone desiring motivation, direction, and focus in life. Rob Dial, a businessman and motivational speaker, has inspired thousands of individuals be it business professionals, entrepreneurs, or small business owners with his passion to motivate people to become the best versions of themselves. This podcast has given me a positive perception of living a life of meaning. It’s also easy listening and doesn’t feel dragging at all. It is so insightful that it always makes me want to grab a piece of paper and take notes.

    ~Therese

    The Double Cleanse Podcast

    Hosts: James and Robert Welsh

This is a new podcast that just started and so far I am enjoying it! It is hosted by two YouTubers, James and Robert Welsh. They are twins who love talking about everything beauty from skincare to makeup. I started watching their YouTube videos awhile back and now that they have their own podcast show, I decided to tune in there as well. While one is a skincare enthusiast and the other a professional makeup artist, both Welshes great at giving advice and being real with their audience. I love finding out new skincare products and routines especially since I got addicted to the Korean 10 step skincare routine. Bonus! They have British accents and it’s so addicting listening to the way they talk.

    Stuff You Should Know

Hosts: Josh Clark and Chuck Bryant

The title speaks for it itself. The episodes are on everything and anything you know and you want to know. The hosts go deeper on the topic making you get all the information you need to know. Some episodes are light and some are heavy, but this podcast gets my interest every day, plus I get to know new information every day. You should definitely put this in your podcast list if you are looking for informative yet entertaining.
